Love this place. Never had a bad night out here. Food is amazing (the fried rice is crispy and delicious). The owner is an absolute amazing guy. Go!
Fresh seafood and great drink options and be sure to order from Mama's menu and get some Chinese / Malay flavor that have you coming back again. Absolutely fantastic hosts here make you feel immediately at home while the reasonable pricing makes you fear that it might just become too popular. If you can handle a little bit of a bar noise, all friendly and joyful, then you need to dine here and you're really in for a treat.
Place is crazy. That pork belly and crispy fried rice. Every time we go to New York. We make a trip to this place.
COVID era review so take out only. But wow the food didn't disappoint. We had the fish and chips and shrimp popcorn and it was perfect food for take away and eat at the seaport. Will love to come back to try the fusion food.
So good, especially the drunken fish soup and fisherman's stew. Loved the crispy fried rice. Personable owner. You cannot order too much -- it's all too tasty. Reasonable prices. Great for groups so you can try everything (we numbered 8, paid about $20 each and ate and drank very very well).
Great spot with an unexpected complete and utter dive atmosphere. Walked by this place a few times before heading in and am glad I did. Awesome service and terrific crowd and staff with good food and limited but sufficient drink options. Stayed a bit later than expected because it was such a great time. Can’t wait to come back again.
OMG! The staff were awesome! We had a big group of 11 people and they were able to accommodate us. The food was delicious!
People aren't lying then they say seafood in New York,NY is a must! I'm a big fish lover so I was eager to have some delicious dishes while in town for a few days.Fish MarketMy colleagues and I had a 5pm rez at Fog Harbor. A beautiful time of night to be on the pier and to be sat near the windows overlooking the water from inside the restaurant. We were placed at a big round table, and were quiet immediately greeted by our friendly server.
Cool spot for food! Never knew there was a restaurant here! It's pretty hidden behind a cracked glass door (I would totally just walk pass it if my friend didn't stop me!) the food was surprisingly good, especially in an area where there aren't that many options close by. Check it out if you're near south street seaport/near pier 16 or 17! seats are limited at the back but do go and try your chance. It's an interesting place for Asian food, bar is pretty loud here but the food's good! They don't have a lot of seats, maybe 8 tables or so for the food area. mama noodle in the picture tastes good! Ginger wings were just ok. My friend and I also shared a curry pot which was ok too.
This place is the ducks nuts! Doesn't look like much from the outside, but if you don't go in, you're missing out. The staff here are the best, super friendly and engaging, dishing out free shots at will. The food is also top shelf, all in all it's a really great place to go.
I knew this was a dive place so I expected the aesthetic and crowd. The service was great. The oysters are some of the worst I've had this year. And the "best dish" recommended was the chicken curry. The rice was clumpy and the chicken was just so-so. Curry had a decent flavor but not enough liquid to wet the rice. I love dive places but I won't be back here.
Great food and staff! The free J-mo shots were awesome! I ordered the stuffed cod with mash potatoes which was very tasty but I don’t think the mash potatoes were real which was a bummer. However, the lobster special and ginger wings were both excellent!
Cheerful and mostly like a bar looking environment, with loudly talking clients. If you can stand this atmosphere, the seafood and mostly oysters and clams are excellent and very reasonably priced. They also make offers to the beers, if buy them by the bucket. It's location is very easy to find, is by the Brooklyn bridge.
Omg this place. Can’t stop thinking about the crispy fried rice. Excellent dive bar with quality fusion American-Asian food. Jeff & Momma are the best 🙏🏽
It's my hundreth visit to Fish Market and Jeff and the family extremely hospitable as they've always been. The food? Again.. glorious. Ginger Chicken Wings + Pork Belly Pot and of course.... the crispy fried rice! I mean come on.... it was a perfect meal.
A very lively place serving great seafood with Asian twist. Can't beat a $18 lobster special. The owner (I think) and servers go around pouring shots of whiskey everyone. Lots of fun.Still no idea how to open the door.
This place was buzzing on a tuesday night that it was hard to even a get spot on the bar. However the bartender was super nice to me and my friend and promised they would serve us food despite the amount of people who were getting dinner. The salmon was to die for and my really enjoyed her lobster and the customers at the bar were occasionally served shots of whiskey. It is a bit of a hole in the wall but a true gem and i will be definitely going here again.
Reasonable price and good taste. I ordered shrimp noodle soup and it was so good.
Absolutely fantastic dining experience! We ordered family style for 7 people and went with many of the server’s recommendations! Blue Point Oysters, Pork Belly Pot, Curry Chicken, Bok Choi, Ginger Wings, and most importantly the Drunken Fish Soup!!!! This is quite the hidden gem and fully worthy of the high ratings that led us here. Staff goes above and beyond to make you feel like part of the family.
It’s the kind of restaurant that looks like “food poisoning”, but when you trespass your fears and eat, you’re 🤩
This restaurant is my favorite. I eat in many restaurants but here I go the most. The team is very friendly and the cuisine they offer is so flavorful. I never miss an opportunity to have a nice dinner in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.
For the love of the dive!! This spot is legendary amongst my office. Unassuming but awesome. Loy patrons, lots of regulars and incredible owner who always keeps it fun.
Great low key place for dinner and drinks! It might look a little sketch from the outside, and might be a little dive-y, but don’t let that fool you because their food is delicious! We ordered bok choy, chicken wings, chicken curry, and fried rice and they were all great! My favorite was the fried rice because it was extra crispy! Another great thing about this place is that they go around serving free shots of Jameson!
Literally my favorite bar in the world. Just go you'll understand
